What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger

This is a letter to all of you who may be freaking out at our life experiences.  We have tried to use humor while also being realistic and unflinchingly honest about what we experienced.

But we want you to know that the kids are alright.  In fact, we are more than alright.

Best Dad Ever...We found our way because we had the most amazing man in our lives, our dad.  He led by example, taught by modeling healthy behavior and loved us to the moon and back.  We would not be the wonderfully strong women we are today without him.

We wish all of you in our reading audience could have met him.  One of our goals is to share him with you through the stories we are telling. Another goal is to let you know that, while each family’s experiences and dynamics vary in detail and specifics, you are not alone if you are in or have been in what seems like a family from hell situation.

In fact, we would love to hear from you if you have anecdotes or tales of your own, or thoughts about what we are sharing. Just comment here, or contact us via the Contact Us page.

They say that what does not kill you makes you stronger.  This is true; our experiences – for better and for worse – prove it. Our character and integrity was formed by our experiences (the good, the bad, the ugly, the drunken and insane) and my sister and I are so fortunate to have each other.

It is true that we did not come home to fresh baked cookies after school.  We had something better…we had interesting experiences, colorful characters and our dad, someone who made us feel we could conquer the world.
