Whenever we went to a potluck at the school, Mary took the same dish—a peanut, banana, and mayonnaise salad. (Those are the only ingredients and you can adjust the amounts to suit yourself.) When she went through the line, she was looking for her special creation, and when she saw that the pan was empty, she almost went berserk. She would start saying, “Where is my peanut salad? That’s the only thing I wanted at this potluck.” It never occurred to her to make the salad on another occasion for her family or even to double the recipe that night. It was a special production.
