During the holidays, I wanted to purchase something fun for Lindy. She is such a good sister and does so many nice things for me. This time I wanted to do something for her.
I was meeting Lindy at the mall at 10:30AM, so I had about 45 minutes to find something wonderful. Luckily, there is a store that wraps all gifts for free and that is where I went. I found two darling snowmen that I knew Lindy would love. I took them back to the wrapping area and was told they would be ready in fifteen minutes. I went back to the shopping floor to search for more fun items. I came back with two more finds which I also wanted wrapped.
After turning them in to the little old ladies who would do the wrapping, I asked for my original packages and was told they were not quite ready. At 10:30 (thirty minutes after dropping off the original snowmen), I was told they were working on wrapping the first package! Lindy had called and was arriving at the mall in two minutes. I explained that I needed the gifts right away, but I might as well have been talking Chinese.
Finally I said, “Please give me all the packages back.” They agreed to do so and said they could give me wrapping paper to take along. The wrapping paper was not going to do me any good with Lindy’s presents, but I did have two more to wrap, so I accepted.
I gave Lindy her unwrapped gifts and went home with my other purchases. When I got home, the large Christmas plate did not have enough paper to completely wrap it. Ugh! Another far from normal shopping trip!
